Johnny Manziel considering coaching college football once NFL career is over quoting : CBS Sports

Johnny Manziel's football career isn't officially over yet, but it's getting there. So if Manziel is going to stay in the game, it may be as a coach. Speaking at the International Football Betting Conference in Costa Rica, Manziel was asked what he would do if his pro football career ended for good. In short, Manziel said he would likely return to college, maybe as a coach. Visualizing Manziel doing anything given his off-field and substance issues seems like a stretch now, but coaching and/or mentoring might end up being a good outlet for him.

Among the latest is Johnny Manziel, a fellow free agent quarterback who praised Kaepernick's abilities in an interview that touched on his own situation and plans. He vowed to sober up, began working out again regularly, re-signed with the agent who had dumped him and got engaged. "But for right now, I think I'll leave that to Tebow," Manziel chuckled.

Johnny Manziel interested in coaching if NFL career is over

Free agent quarterback Johnny Manziel wants to enter the coaching field if he can't secure another job with an NFL team, according to an interview published late Monday. I can't get away from it," Manziel told "Outkick the Coverage" founder Clay Travis last weekend at the International Football Betting Conference in Costa Rica. The Browns released Manziel after the 2015 season amid allegations of substance abuse and a high-profile domestic incident with a former girlfriend. It's unclear if Manziel would face an additional suspension if he returned to the league. Manziel told Travis that he was "hard-headed" while playing in college, ESPN reported.
